Course Objectives:
This course is designed for participants to develop knowledge and understanding of process improvement tools & methods so as to apply them in day-to-day work by:
- Improved understanding of how to work with workplace facts and data
- Recognising the forms of variation (Special cause & Common cause) and waste
- Applying tools to analyse and optimise work processes; streamlining & simplifying workflows, shortening lead times and optimising Customer outcomes
- Applying practical people change management techniques to develop and embed solutions within work teams.
Course Outcomes:
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Analyse a situation to define the problem
- Structure & apply the Lean-Six Sigma tools to identify the root causes of the problem
- Identify, plan & apply people change management techniques to gain team involvement & buy-in
- Plan & implement solutions to address the root causes
- Establish management controls to sustain the improved performance
Course Delivery:
Content: self-paced, bite-sized Missions are organised into 6 Levels to cover the tools and methods in the Define-Measure-Analyse-Improve-Control Lean-Six Sigma roadmap; the learning experience is delivered via concise narrated Video lessons supported by downloadable copies of the slides and materials. The Missions use a variety of interactive activities to provide you with the practical understanding of the tools and methods, including: Case Studies, Recap questionnaires, Self-reflection checklists, Interactive online templates & forms, and Data analysis exercises, all contained within the platform.
1:1 Coaching: Coach contact is scheduled via virtual meetings at key course milestones, and also available at any time at your fingertips: Post a question, share your challenges or schedule a virtual meeting at a convenient time, the Quest platform makes it easy!

Stuart is a formally trained (SBTI Inc., Texas) and certified Lean-Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Black Belt with broad project experience and proven skills in all facets of Lean-Six Sigma and Lean enterprise.
Along with Stuart's technical expertise, his deep understanding of culture and change allows him to identify the key social and technical insights that will deliver improvements and build capability.

Level 01 Define Phase
Clarify the project Problem, Scope and Goals using a Project Charter, collect the ‘Voice Of Customer’ & establish a performance Baseline.

Level 02 Measure Phase
Understand the key tools to map the work process, identify the potential x’s and collect data. Conduct graphical data screening using SigmaXL software.

Level 03 Analyse Phase - Validation
Understand the approach to structure the potential x-list ready for Analysis, Learn the tools to screen and prioritise descriptive x’s.

Level 04 Analyse Phase - Evidence
Develop a working knowledge of sample data and inferential statistics to apply hypothesis testing and confirm root causes using SigmaXL.

Understand how to identify solutions to address the root causes, redesign work processes and make changes to solve the problem & improve performance.
